Dear Friends and Family,
Well, as May was coming to a close, I meant to write an email right away,  but a series of big events has prevented me from getting to the computer  until now. First of all the Lord has been good. He has been teaching me out of Mark lately about how He is the greatest treasure we could ever have.  It  is so easy to treasure other "good" things. I have supremely enjoyed and  been blessed by my time here in Australia.
Before last week, I was planning just to renew my visa and stay here in  Australia. But Brother Dave Crowe (the missionary I intended to work with   in  PNG), came here for health reasons. The doctor did not give a good report,  and Brother Dave and his family will have to come back to Australia for a  long period of time for him to recover. However, they do not plan to   return  until September. I had an opportunity to speak with Brother Dave while he  was here, and he suggested that I come to New Guinea now on a 3 month  tourist visa and minister with them as they prepare to leave. Tourist   visas  are much easier to obtain, so that would not be a difficulty this time  around. After prayer and talking with the missionaries, I have decided to   go  to PNG on June 22 and stay the 3 months. If the Lord wants me to stay   there  longer, perhaps he will call me to work with other missionaries later, but  for now, I will come back in September. Praise the Lord for guiding and
directing in that area! So often I am tempted to doubt, but the Lord   always  works things out in His time, not ours.
There is a possibility that I will be able to get a second visa to come   back to Australia for another 3 months afterwards. Please pray that the Lord   will  allow that to come through if it is His will. I know I am sad to leave  here  on the spur of the moment, but at the same time I am thrilled to go to PNG  at last. Please pray also that the Lord will give the Jaworskis strength   and  perhaps someone else to help as Mrs. Jaworski will be taking back the  responsibilities I have.
The past month has been a busy one. With church music specials and   teaching
Sunday school, my Sundays have been full. We also had a funeral this past  Monday for a well-known man in the town. There were around 150 people in  attendance at the funeral. People had to sit outside the church or stand  in  the back for the service because there were so many! Praise the Lord for  allowing so many unsaved people to here the Gospel. Many were people who  would never darken the doors of a fundamental church, but God used a death  to bring them there. The funeral was truly glorious as the man who died   was  also unsaved until the last week before his death. God answered years of  prayers as he accepted Christ.
The Bob Jones Australia team came here on May 28th, and is busy at camp  getting things ready. They have been a great blessing by helping at school  and heading up a youth night this evening. God is using the team mightily.  The students at school are so excited to meet the college students, and  their testimonies for the Lord are an encouragement to the students to   serve  the Lord with their lives. Pray that God will work in hearts during the   next  few weeks as they prepare for camp and help in various other areas.
  Prayer Requests:
-my trip to PNG on the 22nd
-The Bosworth family, especially as the team will be staying here, some in
their home. For Mr. Bosworth's salvation
-Strength for the Jaworskis as having the team and planning for camp is an
  added strain
-Brother Dave's health, particularly his digestive tract and immune system
-My travel agent Rae. God has let me develop a good relationship with her
(she also attended the funeral). Pray that I will have a time when I can
  share the Gospel with her.

Thank you for your prayers. God has blessed and is continuing to work in
  the  hearts of students.
In His Service,
Karen Marvin
